When you visit Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro, Panama, and you buy a drink in a plastic bottle, you don’t just buy the liquid inside, you also buy the plastic bottle.

You have a responsibility since you bought this plastic bottle, you are the owner of that bottle…Will you put it in your luggage with your other belonging and bring it with you when you finish enjoying your vacation on our beautiful island?

If the answer is NO, then what will happen to your bottle once you abandon it on our island?

Will it end-up in our ocean, on a beach, or somewhere in the nature?

Only one way to ensure your bottle will be picked-up! By applying our “CARBON FOOTPRINT STICKERS” to your bottles.

By doing so, you will achieve three things:

1- Reduce your carbon footprint.

2- Educate children about recycling.

3- Bring food to less fortunate families.

It's easy:

1- Get your sticker sheet at any of the distribution points listed below.

2- Give your sticker sheet to any child in Town or in the Barriada.

3- The child will pick up bottles and put the stickers on them to exchange them for food at the Castillo Inspiración (open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Except Saturday, September 27, when it will be closed; and Monday, September 29, when it will be open). We will soon have an exchange point in Bocas Town again!

4- Plastic Bottle Village will reuse the collected bottles as building material for houses.

Cuando visitas Isla Colón, Bocas del Toro, Panamá, y compras una bebida en una botella de plástico, no solo compras el líquido adentro, también compras la botella de plástico.

Tienes una responsabilidad desde que compras esa botella de plástico, eres el propietario de esa botella ... ¿La guardarás en tu equipaje con el resto de tus cosas y la llevarás contigo cuando termines de disfrutar tus vacaciones en nuestra hermosa isla?

Si la respuesta es NO, ¿Qué pasará con tu botella una vez que la abandones en nuestra isla?

¿Terminará en el océano, en una playa o en algún lugar de la naturaleza?

¡Solo hay una manera de asegurar que tu botella será recogida! Aplica nuestras "PEGATINAS DE IMPACTO AMBIENTAL" en tus botellas.

Al hacerlo, lograrás tres cosas:

1- Reducir tu huella de carbono.

2- Educar a los niños sobre el reciclaje.

3- Traer comida a las familias menos afortunadas.

Es muy fácil:

1- Consigue tu hoja de pegatinas en cualquiera de los puntos de distribución indicados más abajo.

2- Entrega tu hoja de pegatinas a cualquier niño del pueblo o de la Barriada.

3- El niño recogerá botellas y les pondrá las pegatinas para intercambiarlas por comida en el Castillo Inspiración (abierto de martes a domingo de 12 p.m. a 4 p.m.; excepto el sábado 27 de septiembre, cuando permanecerá cerrado, y el lunes 29 de septiembre, cuando estará abierto.). Pronto volveremos a tener un punto de intercambio en Bocas Town.

4- Plastic Bottle Village reutilizará las botellas recogidas como material de construcción para casas.

VISIT INSPIRATION CASTLE

OUR CAUSE IS TO PROTECT PLANET EARTH AGAINST THE INVASION OF SINGLE USE PLASTIC BOTTLES IN OUR OCEANS:

Take a guided tour of the Museum of the History of the Plastic Bottle, located inside the “Inspiration Castle,” the unique castle made from 40,000 plastic bottles on the entire planet Earth (Guinness World Records 2017).

The tour can be in Spanish or English, lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, and is inspiring.

• Closed on Mondays.

• Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last tour at 3:30 p.m.). Except Thursday, January 1, 2026, when it will be closed.

• Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last tour at 3:00 p.m.).

A visit that will not leave you indifferent. You can also collaborate in the Carbon Footprint Stickers initiative: recycle, educate, and feed.

• For 1 to 3 people, a minimum contribution of 4 sheets of stickers is requested.

• For 4 or more people, it will be 1 sheet of stickers ($5/sheet) per person.

VISITA EL CASTILLO INSPIRACIÓN

NUESTRA CAUSA ES PROTEGER EL PLANETA TIERRA DE LA INVASIÓN DE BOTELLAS DE PLÁSTICO DE UN SOLO USO EN NUESTROS OCÉANOS:

Realiza una visita guiada por el Museo de la Historia de la Botella de Plástico que se encuentra en el “Castillo Inspiración”, el único castillo hecho con 40,000 botellas de plástico en todo el Planeta Tierra (Guinness World Records 2017).

El tour puede ser en español o inglés, dura 30-45 minutos aproximadamente y es inspirador.

• Lunes cerrado.

• Martes a sábado de 12:00 a 16:00 (último tour a las 15:30). Excepto jueves 1 de enero de 2026 que estará cerrado.

• Domingo de 12:00 a 16:00 (último tour a las 15:00).

Una visita que no te dejará indiferente. Además podrás colaborar en la iniciativa de Pegatinas de Impacto Ambiental: reciclar, educar y alimentar.

• De 1 a 3 personas, se pide una contribución mínima de 4 hojas de pegatinas. 

• A partir de 4 personas, será 1 hoja de pegatinas ($5/hoja) por persona.

Recorre el Castillo mientras conoces cómo entró la botella de plástico de un solo uso en nuestras vidas, su devastador impacto y cómo podemos luchar juntos para salvar nuestro planeta.
